Maria Dubin returned to Tunisia and stayed in a former convent within the Tunis Medina, now the artist residency Dar Meso. Her room, once a nun’s cell, overlooked a garden in the process of being planted. She spent her days drawing both the garden and the surrounding medina. Upon returning to her Copenhagen studio, she transformed these drawings into oil pastels.
